Welcome to our blog! We are so excited to be sharing about the work happen at camp, and how the Lord is moving in us all this summer. With camp right around the corner here is a note from Patrick Myers, our Executive Director, on the happenings of camp this O-Week.
It is hard to believe Summer Camp 2016 is only 6 days away. This week, final touches are happening all around camp. Maintenance guys are doing everything from finishing the changing rooms at the lake to installing new lights around the cabin area. Staff are spreading woodchips and power- washing the tennis courts. Counselors are preparing Bible studies and learning all the policies and procedures needed to run camp. CIT’s are helping run the kitchen and spending time cleaning the KYBO’s. Contractors are finishing up the new entryway to the Lodge and cleaning up from replacing roofs on several of the cabins. Wilderness staff are learning how to take kids through the new ropes course and the kitchen team is frantically feeding all these famished folks.
To use an analogy from nature, the camp is like a bee hive. Worker bees, each with a unique task, are busily darting here and there. While each perform separate jobs, they all do so in order to accomplish the same goal. They serve their ruler, build their kingdom, and store up the food that tastes so sweet. Please pray for us, as we here at LCCC serve the King by readying the camp. Ask the Lord that through our feeble efforts, campers would be able to “taste and see that the Lord is good. “ Psalm 34:8
