Session One Devotional

Every year at camp a memory verse is chosen for staff and campers to learn and memorize; this year the verse is "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, and the new has come!" 2 Corinthians 5:17.  This verse is a great assurance for all of us that through Christ we are made new.

In my life I have learned that even though I am sinful and I am not worthy, God has given me a chance to be forgiven.  By reading and studying the bible I am constantly reminded that throughout history people have sinned against God, but are made new by following Jesus.

I have been coming to camp for many years now, first as a camper and now on staff, and I love coming to camp summer after summer to learn more about how God is good, and how He has given us this truth.  I am so excited to be back again this summer and see what all He is going to do in the lives of campers and staff.  The dining hall maybe louder and a little wild but that just means kids are here ready to learn more about being a new creation.
