Camp Champs
A Camp Champ is a person or small team in your church who loves Ligonier Camp and helps spread the word. As a Camp Champ, you partner with us in ministry and serve as a key connection between your congregation and camp. Camp Champs might:
Communicate with the Summer Camp Director to receive promotional materials
Help organize church or community efforts to promote camp
Encourage campers through notes or support while they are at camp
Serve as the go-to person for camp questions within your church (we’ll provide answers and support)
We’ll equip you with resources, and Camp swag like T-shirts and stickers, so you can promote camp with confidence.
If you believe in the impact of Ligonier Camp and Conference Center, we invite you and your church to prayerfully consider who might serve as a Camp Champ. If that’s you, please contact Dan Bajc, Summer Camp Director, at dbajc@ligoniercamp.org
Camp Sunday Resources
Promote camp in a Sunday Church Service. Some might say “Do church the camp way”. Some churches choose to theme the entire service around camp or pick and choose ideas to add to your normal service.
Incorporate Camp into your Worship / “Do Church the camp way”
Suggestions for Camp Sundays at Church: (Call to Worship, Children's Message Ideas, Song Suggestions, Litany Suggestions, etc)
Show a Camp Promotional Video
Have past campers share a testimony of their experience at camp
Consider designating all or a portion of your offering to raise scholarship funds to help get kids to camp
Camp Display
Set up a Summer Camp Display/ Bulletin Board that keeps people thinking about camp year round. We can send you brochures and help you with photos for your churches camp display!
Where else could you put a camp brochure to promote camp? Do you have a place at work?
Host an Info Meeting
Consider offering a Sunday School Class or In-Home Gathering where you watch a longer promotional video of camp, hear camper testimonies, offer a more detailed pitch including answers to commonly asked questions, ending with a Q & A session.
Support camp with
your giving and time
Offering scholarships to help get kids to camp from your church is a great way to show your church believes in the power of camp.
Organize a Camp Fundraising event. Think about a Good Ol’ Fashion Spaghetti Dinner or Car Wash that campers get involved with to help raise funds to go to camp!
Promote one of our many year round work days inviting your congregation to give back through service projects.
Invite us to your Church
We would love to come visit your congregation at your church to promote camp. Consider inviting our staff to a Church Service or to take us out to coffee to talk about how our Camp can be a ministry partner with your church.
We believe that our ministry is most effective when we are in partnership with local churches. That camp has proven to be one of the most effective ministries when it comes to introducing people to our faith, to then providing mountain top experiences and a place to unplug and “deepen” that faith in an intentional setting. That ministry is most effective when done so in partnership with the local church. Where we can then help promote your churches programs, and where your pastor, youth pastor, and congregation can “pick up the ball” and continue that good work once the camper has returned home. When Camps and Churches work together, Christ is glorified and effective ministry is done.
